Renjana Cita Srikandi Women's Empowerment Festival Set to Kick Off in Pekanbaru

The Renjana Cita Srikandi Women’s Empowerment Festival, which garnered significant attention in Jakarta, is set to embark on a national roadshow. The festival will kick off in Pekanbaru before moving to Medan, Bandung, and Makassar, aiming to inspire and elevate women throughout Indonesia.

The festival’s theme, "Energizing You, Elevating Each Other," is designed to boost women’s skills and promote collaboration. The event centers around three main elements: Karsa, Kriya, and Karya.

Karsa focuses on expanding knowledge and motivation through "Gelar Wicara" sessions with prominent female speakers sharing their experiences. Kriya offers workshops to develop various talents in collaboration with local communities such as Ges Floral, Kawan Sekarya, Sya Sky Studio, and Ngepaint Yuk. Karya showcases artistic performances including music, dance, and fashion, along with a small business fair.

Pekanbaru was chosen as the starting point due to its active and accomplished female community in fields like business, art, and culture. Adrias Harianto, Chair of TP-PKK Riau, expressed support for the festival, emphasizing its role in advancing gender equality and women's rights for sustainable development.

The festival will also feature local talents, including entrepreneur Tia Juwita and social media influencer Cut Aliza Syakila, who will share their inspiring stories. Tia Juwita highlighted the festival’s potential to encourage women in Riau to explore entrepreneurship and the creative economy.

Scheduled for August 23 to 25, 2024, the festival will take place at Lapangan Gubernur Riau and Ballroom Menara BRK Syariah Riau. Over 70 notable women will participate, including Prilly Latuconsina, Yura Yunita, Rossa, Agnez Mo, and others. The second day will coincide with the 67th anniversary of Riau Province, featuring performances by Rizky Febian, Armada, Kunto Aji, and Mario G Klau.

The festival is committed to inclusivity, offering facilities for people with disabilities, such as sign language interpreters and accessible areas. Supported by the Riau Provincial Government, the festival aims to make a significant impact on women across Indonesia.
